Week 9 - Day 1
Find the /ar/ Flashcards
First, review the /ar/ flashcards with the students. Then, mix the flashcards up (face down for older students, face up for younger students). Call out the flashcard you want the student to find. This can be done individually, or in pairs as a race.
Match the /ar/ Flashcards
Place two sets of /ar/ flashcards face down in a grid formation in front of you. Turn over a flashcard and read the card. Then, use your memory to match the flashcard to its copy. If you find a match, leave the cards face up. Play the game until all flashcards are face up.
Sight Words “should,” “totally,” and “day”
Present the sight word flashcards. Practice chanting the word with the class as a group. Then, let each student read the words individually, correcting for mistakes as needed. Demonstrate using the sight word in a sentence, and encourage students to do the same.
